Food, Art, and Celebrating Students - What Else Could You Need?

Does a night of free food and local student artwork sounds like something you’d be interested in? Next Thursday, March 16th Alamance Arts at the Captain White House in Graham will host a reception for the Visual Arts Competition for Young People. The competition will be judged in two divisions, Middle School (grades 7 and 8), and High School (grades 9,10,11, and 12). The artists and their families can enjoy snacks and beverages between 7 and 8:30 p.m., and the competing artwork will be on display for the community to view and enjoy.

Artwork on display will be in a wide array of mediums from photography, painting, drawing, collage, and even sculpture. Every year, Alamance Arts is in awe of the amount of talent packed into our county - we can’t wait to see what our students submit this year! The winning entries will be exhibited at The Captain White House through April 26. If you are unable to attend the reception, you are always welcome to view the winning pieces on weekdays from 9 to 5. The Visual Arts competition was one of the first programs Alamance Arts sponsored, and we are so happy to continue this tradition for our youth.
