Why You Should Buy Sculpture

According to the Washington Post, “Sculpture provides a focal point in a garden, a landmark in a neighborhood and a conversation piece for passersby.” To this end, there is nothing that can compare to having a piece of art that is fully present and tangible like a sculpture. In addition to the benefits of owning sculpture, an even greater value can be derived from the opportunity to own original artwork crafted by regional artists.

Alamance Arts’ Willow Walk: Sculpture in the Park event provides the perfect occasion to take your garden, yard or whatever space you designate to the next level. Being able to strike the right balance of nature and manmade art is a skill that takes years of refinement and openness to experimentation that can be both fun and inspiring.

There are hundreds of articles listing the countless ways that owning original art can make your life better or, at the very least, start some very compelling conversations! However, it’s hard to quantify in exact terms the importance of buying art and buying sculptures because it varies from person to person. The one common thread linking all of those unique experiences is a love of art, ideas and open conversation.

The Willow Walk provides an opportunity to take a chance and purchase a piece you truly love that will accent your garden or living room. If nothing else, walking through a park filled with sculptures will be unforgettable and a lovely day out with the family or friends.

This event will be hosted on June 4th and June 5th in Burlington’s Willowbrook Park. In addition to a lovely display of sculptures large and small, there will be walking tours, all-day music in the gazebo, and a cocktail event Saturday evening.
